Home Away From Home

We understand that it can be stressful to leave your pet when you go out of town – especially if they are ill, or when they are recovering from a procedure or surgery. At St. Francis Veterinary Hospital, we want to help put your mind at ease with our pet boarding services.

We provide complete general boarding services for all of our patients, and medical boarding services for pets with conditions standard boarding centers may not be equipped to accommodate.

We provide a fenced yard for pets to walk around in, multiple sizes of run for different pet sizes, temperature controlled boarding areas, and spacious and private kennels which are perfect for pets who don't react well to other cats or dogs.

Pet Boarding: A Typical Day

Dog Boarding

Every morning, your dog will venture outside for a short walk and some fresh air with one of our vets before breakfast. While they are outside, their kennels are cleaned, disinfected, and stocked with fresh linens.

Depending on their physical capacity and ability, we walk the dogs who stay with us 3 times a day.

In the evening, dinner is served, and then we have one last walk before bedtime.

Cat Boarding

We keep cat and dog boarding areas separate from one another to reduce stress on your pet. Your cat will be fed according to your specifications and their requirements, to ensure their routine is the same as it is at home.

We provide daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned and disinfected periodically throughout the day.

Additionally, we refresh linens and clean your kitty's room daily.

Medical Pet Boarding

Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians in the course of their stay with us, who will administer any medications or care your beloved pet requires. We will keep medicine administrations and care to the same schedule you keep at home.

Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians and nurses, who will administer medications and watch over them closely. Any required medications will be administered to your pet on the same schedule they are used to at home.

  • How should I prepare for my pet's stay?

Each pet is special and have unique needs. In order to prepare your pet for their stay with us, we will go through the following steps:

Step 1: Contact us to get started

Call us to book, and to speak with us about any details we will need to know about you and your pet boarding needs. A team member will be more than happy to coordinate your booking with you.

Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.

Step 2: Book a trial stay

We want to be completely sure that we are a good fit for your pet before they stay with us. The trial stay involves a full day of daycare where we are able to take the time to assess your pet's temperament and make sure they'll be a good fit.

Step 3: Set your pet up for success

On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.

Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful and confident during the separation.
